What is the role of political correctness in the video games industry?

This is my basic question for my research techniques, which I've come to after talking with Dan. As PC is rather close to my heart and opinions, I want to discuss and find a thesis on why and how political correctness is used in the industry, and how it's affecting our work.
So far I have found an excellent website www.gamepolitics.com which seems to be a general hub of where games and politics collide, and I have found some interesting articles, though as of yet nothing to do with anything I'm looking for, although I have only managed to go back the last few months as there is alot of information on the site to pour through, so with any luck it should hold some rather interesting things I can find that will help towards making a good arguement.
I have also found a video with Jamie Bulgers mother regarding the game "Manhunt 2" using the video of the boys taking Jamie, and giving an interview about it, which is on the lnes of my question, asking when is it going too far and what will it be that tops it off to make complete censorship of most games with any kind of content that sparks a debate?
As of yet I haven't found any material in magazines or newspapers that have any good information regarding my subjects. The majority of any conflict across the games released is mostly to do with game violence and what it leads to, which isn't where I want my topic to end up ploughing into as it's questions that have all been asked before and have never come up with a solid answer that anyone really agrees with. Hopefully I can find something that is useful in the near future.
